Dear Parents,
Happy WINTER! I would like for your family to take the READING CHALLENGE during the next few months. While we are stuck inside during winter, I have come up with 10 challenges that will make READING FUN! See how many you can finish together. Maybe you could even add a few of your own. When you complete the READING CHALLENGE, your child’s vocabulary, writing, and overall school achievement will IMPROVE.
MRS. ELKINS WINTER READING CHALLENGE:
- READ a book with more than 100 pages
- SHARE a book together with a number in the title
- Find a FUNNY book that will make your family LAUGH together
- READ a book based on a true story
- Spend time READING a short book that you can finish in 20 minutes
- EXPERIENCE a book set somewhere you have always wanted to visit
- DISCOVER a book that came out in the year you were born (Parent/Child)
- READ a book with a color in the title
- Find a BOOK based on or turned into a famous movie
Most importantly, ENJOY READING together and making family memories.
