Principal's Message

Dear Parents:

With winter weather approaching, CES has some EXCITING news!   The Cloverdale Community School Corporation has approved eLearning Days.  The eLearning Days can be used in the case of inclement weather instead of making up “snow days”.   During the next few weeks, your child’s teacher will be sending home more information about how the eLearning Days will work.  Below I have listed some of the highlights of our new exciting program:

  • Your child’s assignments will be posted in Google Classroom.  Your child’s teacher will be sending home ALL the directions on how to do the assignments.
  • If you DO NOT have access to the internet during the snow day, your child’s teacher will provide the time when we return to school to complete the assignments within 4 school days.
  • During the eLearning day, your child’s teacher will be available to respond to questions via email or Google Classroom about the assignments from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
  • Your child will receive credit for the classroom work and attendance when they complete the eLearning activities.
  • During November, we will be practicing eLearning Days at school so your child has an understanding of how the programming will work.
  • REMEMBER -- This is a program to help your child during snow days to have meaningful learning activities.

Endeavor Communications will have a training session for students and parents on November 14, 2019, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Endeavor’s Training Room to help parents practice eLearning with their child.

MOST IMPORTANTLY REMEMBER THIS IS A NEW PROGRAM AND WE WILL WORK TOGETHER TO MAKE THIS NEW TYPE OF LEARNING SUCCESSFUL FOR YOUR CHILD AND YOU!

As your child’s principal, I know all teachers are working hard to make the  eLearning programming successful and will be providing information to make learning during snow days a positive experience!

“Let It Snow,”

Mary Jane Elkins, Principal
