Principal's Message

Dear Parents:

Students will be taking End of Year Assessments during the month of April.  All elementary students will be taking the i-Ready reading and math tests to make sure they are on grade level. Students in 3rd and 4th grade will take the ILEARN state test.  We are excited about the upcoming standardized tests.  Please take time to read the following information:

  • i-READY Reading and Math Assessments – March 27-April 7, for grades K-4th.
  •  ILEARN for grades 3rd & 4th – Begins the week of April 17th.  This test focuses on LANGUAGE ARTS and MATH skills.  It will take approximately 4-6 hours to complete during the week.  This test is a comprehensive test and involves a variety of reading, writing, and math skills.

As a parent, here are three simple things you can do to help your child be READY for the Indiana Test.

  1. Make sure your child is HERE for the END OF YEAR TESTING.
  2. Make sure your child has a GOOD night’s sleep and is well RESTED for the    test!
  3. Be POSITIVE with your child about doing his/her best work on the test.

Thank you in advance for helping YOUR child be successful at our school.  If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.  By working together, we know this will be a positive testing experience for all.

Sincerely,

Mary Jane Elkins, Principal
